Description

For a brake motor, a rectifier is typically used to convert alternating current (AC) power into direct current (DC) power, which is necessary to control the brake mechanism. The rectifier ensures that the brake operates reliably and efficiently. Here’s how it works and what you should consider:

1. Functionality: The rectifier converts AC power from the mains into DC power, which is used to energize the brake coil. When the brake coil is energized, the brake is released, allowing the motor to rotate. When the DC power is removed, the brake engages, stopping the motor.

2. Input Voltage: 200-220 VAC / Output: 90 VDC. Rectifier for brake motor. Included with brake motor.

To operate the brake of a gear motor with a rectifier brake, the rectifier A200-D90 (A100-D45) or A100-D90 that is included with the product is required (Figure 14). Since the braking delay time differs depending on the wiring method, please select the wiring method according to the application from the wiring methods shown in Figure 12 and Table 6. The rectifier includes a surge killer, but if it becomes a particular problem, please add a separate surge killer or noise filter.

When speed conversion is performed using an inverter

Please note that when using a gear motor and inverter in combination, an abnormal temperature rise (motor surface temperature of 80°C or more) may occur during low speed rotation. If the product is equipped with a brake, voltage fluctuations may cause brake malfunction, so bypass the inverter for the brake wiring. Also, since the allowable torque value changes depending on the input rotation speed, the output shaft allowable torque is the value multiplied by the correction coefficient according to <P.59/Figure 46>.
